Return To Sanctioned Training

The Welsh Rugby Union have sanctioned us to return to training from 1st August. For the past 3 weeks, a lot of work has taken place to ensure that all Coaches and Team Managers are clear on how training sessions are to be managed, and also to ensure that the club playing facilities are safe for all. Please see the information and instruction below.

All age group training will take place on separate days so there is no overlap of teams, and therefore the number of players/coaches at the club at any time is minimised.

No shared equipment is to be used except for balls and cones, which will be kept with the team and washed before and after each session. Shared facilities such as changing rooms, equipment store and toilets are all to remain closed.

In order to train, the WRU have set out three clear steps that each player/parent MUST complete. These are:

  1. Complete the World Rugby COVID-19 online education module https://playerwelfare.worldrugby.org/covid-19-courses
  2. Complete online player registration with WRU through the WRU Game locker https://www.wrugamelocker.wales
  3. Complete the online symptom checker <2hrs prior to attending training, again accessible through the WRU Game locker. For those without internet access, there is an offline symptom check sheet.

If the 3 steps above have not been completed, the player will not be permitted to train with no exceptions. This is a WRU directive so we must adhere to it.

On the designated training times, on arrival at the club all players must sanitize their hands and make their way directly to the correct training zone, a zone map and sanitizing station are located at the top of the steps. A team representative will be there to greet each player and check that the 3 steps have been completed.

A short video has been made and circulated to our teams to show what our setup looks like.
