We are delighted to confirm that Newtown Rugby Club will be taking part in this years DoddieCup555 bike ride, Cardiff Principality Stadium to Murrayfield Stadium on Thursday 9th Feb to Saturday 11th Feb, 2023.

This is a charity fundraising event in aid of the Doddie Weir Foundation for MND (Motor Neurone Disease) www.myname5doddie.co.uk.

Our team of riders will ride the distance of 555 miles as a relay team, with the aim of finishing within 55 hours and arriving in Edinburgh in time for the Scotland v Wales 6 Nations match.

Newtown RFC is to be one of the stopover points along the route with approximately 300 people, including several former international rugby players notably Scott Quinnell and Rob Wainwright, as well as round the world cyclist Mark Beaumont expected to pass through.

The event will have added poignancy following the recent sad loss of Doddie and this will give us even greater determination to play our small part in finding a cure for MND. Please support by sponsoring us through our just giving page.
